Bound for a remote planet on the far side of the galaxy, members (Katherine Waterston, Billy Crudup) of the colony ship Covenant discover what they think to be an uncharted paradise. While there, they meet David (Michael Fassbender), the synthetic survivor of the doomed Prometheus expedition. The mysterious world soon turns dark and dangerous when a hostile alien life-form forces the crew into a deadly fight for survival.
Director Ridley Scott (Alien, Prometheus) delivers a film with a fine cast with terrific action and some scary moments along with great production design and visual effects but lacks story and pace. The first first half of the movie felt lifeless and slow, nothing exciting happens until the crew lands on the planet with aliens and fight to make it alive.
Though an improvement from Prometheus, Alien: Covenant is a disappointment. The action is thrilling and exciting but the rest of the film is boring and slow paced. If you’re a fan of the Alien films, it’s still worth a look.
