Anne (Diane Lane), wife of a successful movie producer (Alec Baldwin) takes a car trip from the south of France to Paris with one of her husband’s associates (Arnaud Viard).
Paris Can Wait sounds like a pleasant road movie on paper but it doesn’t translate well on screen. Though Diane Lane and Arnaud Viard give likable performances and cinematography by Crystal Fournier is exquisite, it’s not enough to save the film. Writer and director Eleanor Coppola lacks character and story development. It feels cliched Lane travelling to Paris with charming and food obsessed Frenchman Viard and practically eating throughout the film which makes it boring.
